When selecting a ride, riders should consider the terrain of a ride because if may affect their ability to ride at the listed pace.
Riders who have not previously ridden with the Club are advised to select rides that do not challenge their estimate of their riding ability.
Riders should sign in prior to the start of the ride and immediately upon their return based on the signpost color code based on ride distance and pace.
Hard fast riding, few stops, no sweep, slower riders may be dropped, frequent pace lines
For very fit cyclists, limited stops, no sweep, slower riders may be dropped, occasional pace lines
For fit cyclists, limited rest stops, no sweep, slower riders may be dropped, no pace lines
For accomplished cyclists, occasional stops, no pace lines, leader sweeps no slower than 13 mph
For less experienced cyclists who want an easier pace, frequent rest stops, leader sweeps no slower than 10 mph
For new cyclists who are new or returning to riding, frequent rest stops group stays together
"Average Speed" is the average speed while riding. Speeds on flat terrain are typically noticeably higher.
Ride leaders will maintain at least the minimum average speed for the pace of the ride.
